Licensed, permitted, and built to Minnesota code

Every job is performed by a licensed Minnesota electrician under master license EA761814 — not a handyman, not a moonlighter. We pull the right permits, schedule the inspection, and make sure the work passes the first time. That paperwork protects your homeowner's insurance, your resale value, and the people living under your roof.

Three Rivers Electric is based in Saint Paul Park. We serve the Twin Cities metro and surrounding areas — and the crew you meet on day one is the crew that finishes the job.

Signs it's time to call an electrician

  • Breakers that trip again and again, or a panel that feels warm to the touch
  • Outlets or switch plates that are discolored, buzzing, or warm
  • Lights that flicker or dim when the furnace, A/C, or microwave kicks on
  • Two-prong outlets, knob-and-tube, or aluminum branch wiring in an older home
  • Extension cords doing the job a permanent circuit should be doing
  • A remodel, addition, hot tub, EV charger, or anything that adds electrical load

Frequently asked questions

Are your electricians licensed and insured?

Yes. All work is done by licensed Minnesota electricians under master license EA761814, and we carry full liability and workers' comp coverage. Every project is permitted and inspected, so you have documentation that the work was done to code.

Do you handle the permits and inspection, or is that on me?

We do. We pull the electrical permit, coordinate with your city or county inspector, and make sure the job passes. You never have to chase paperwork or schedule an inspector yourself.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Saint Paul Park and cover the Twin Cities metro and surrounding areas — including Cottage Grove, Woodbury, Inver Grove Heights, Eagan, Hastings, Stillwater, South Saint Paul, and the rest of the south and east metro. Not sure if you're in range? Just call and ask.

Do you take on small jobs, or only big projects?

Both. The same licensed crew that rewires a whole house will also swap a single bad outlet, add a circuit for a freezer, or chase down a dead receptacle. No job is too small to do right.

Can you tell me what it will cost before you start?

Yes. After a walkthrough you get a written quote, and where it makes sense we'll show you options at different price points so you can decide what fits the budget. No surprise line items after the fact.

Do you work on older homes with knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring?

Absolutely. A lot of the metro's older housing stock still has two-prong outlets, knob-and-tube, or aluminum branch wiring. We handle those safely — upgrading, replacing, or remediating as needed — and explain what's required versus what's optional.
